Remembering past pupil - Poet John Montague! ✍️📚
We welcomed Dr. Thomas Dillon Redshaw, Professor Emeritus of English at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and Roger Conover, Executive Editor for Architecture, Art, and Design at the MIT Press at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both scholars share a deep connection to Montague through their research, writing, and long‑standing contributions to Irish literary studies.
We were also joined by members of Clogher Valley Historical society and Montague's niece and nephew Dara and Andrew.
During their visit, they spoke to the children about their work at their universities, their love of Irish writing, and how Montague’s early years in Glencull shaped one of Ireland’s most important poetic voices.
Connecting past and present.

Well done to Niall who picked up the Pàdraig McDonald Player of the tournament award. Presented by the McDonald Family today @loughmacrory_gaa. Thank you to all at St Teresa's for organising a great day.
🏐 Gaeilge, spórt agus craic i Páirc an Chairdinéil Mhic Ruairí inniu! 🇮🇪
Brilliant day at Dunmoyle as our P6 & P7 pupils took part in an Irish‑language football blitz, playing the game through Gaeilge and enjoying top‑class football with schools from right across the area.
Great to see pupils from:
🏫 St Mary’s PS, Ballygawley
🏫 St Brigid’s PS, Altamuskin
🏫 St Malachy’s PS, Glencull
🏫 St Macartans PS, Clogher
🏫 St Patrick’s PS, Aghadarragh
Thanks also to the fantastic support from local clubs @errigalciarangac_ , Augher and Clogher, and to @officialtyronegaa and @ulstergaa for promoting the game through Irish.
Huge appreciation to @glor_nangael for funding and supporting these events — a perfect example of Gaeilge beo on and off the pitch 👏
📣 Iontach ar fad ó gach duine a ghlac páirt!

Shared Education – Day One ✅🤝
A fantastic first day of shared education today! Huge thanks to @altamuskincommunityassociation Community Centre for letting us use their amazing facilities.
The children enjoyed an inspiring session with author Declan Carville, learning all about his writing process, alongside Scottish dancing and plenty of energy on the floor with uni-hockey 🏒💃📚
A brilliant day of learning, creativity and fun as pupils from St Mary’s PS Ballygawley, Richmond PS Ballygawley and St Malachy’s Primary School Glencull came together.
Looking forward to many more days like this! 🌟
Holding History in P6 & P7 🕊️📜
Yesterday our P6 and P7 pupils stepped inside history as Holding History brought the early 20th century to life with an extraordinary hands‑on workshop.
They got the chance to handle original 1st and 2nd World War–era artefacts — items that would normally sit behind glass in a museum.
Engaging, immersive and thought‑provoking, this was history held in the hands, not just read from a page.
Well done to P7 Jason who represented @officialtyronegaa, @errigalciarangac_ and @stmalachysps with Cnmb.tyronegaa in the half time game during the @ulstergaa senior football championship @clg_ardmhacha Athletic Grounds.
The pupils might be off for half term but the building work continues @stmalachysps
Meabh, Aidan, Tomas and the Student Council helped @hillviewplantsales load up the clothing bin for transport for refurbishment. It's soon going to be repurposed as a collection point for a uniform exchange for schools in our area.
